Organizing & UFO Challenge

I ended last year hoping I would get organized this year ... especially our basement!  My husband and I installed 4 huge shelving units in the basement so I have been reorganizing and storing Christmas decorations away.  I have labeled and stored items away by room.  I have made so many trips up and down the stairs ... I am pooped!  Due to pulmonary fibrosis I have to take a break between each trip!  I am slow but I am getting there :)  Better late than never!

I need motivation this year to finish so many projects I have started so I decided to join Susan at Blackberry Creek's Little Green Quilter UFO Bust 2011.  I may not post every week but I am going to try.  I am working on my list and so far I have about 10 things I need to finish.  I have been working on a quilt since the new year and I am making progress.
I just need motivation :)

I've been so behind on responding to comments left for me.  I read each one and I am going to try to do better this year.

I am headed to my sewing room now to get busy.

Thanks for visiting and God Bless!
Donna

That's a great idea to join in Susan's little UFO Bust!! I considered joining in too, but with my new machine coming, I didn't want to commit to something I couldn't do. Sometimes it's hard to respond to every email, but most of us know that. No biggie. You do what you can!! :-)

Donna, I am considering joining, too. But, like you, I'm worried about keeping up with it. I may just work on my UFOs independent of joining a group. We shall see.

Good for you for getting all organized. That is great. Don't worry about responding to comments too much. We all understand. If you need to sew, you should sew! I just enjoy reading your posts. Take care of yourself!

Donna, you and I think so much alike. My project for the year is cleaning out/organizing our basement. It is a wreck. Last year my project was cleaning out our upstairs, so we could have the floors carpeted. I accomplished that, but it took me all year. I am allowing myself all year to get the basement done too. And my UFO list must be a mile long. My UFO's are in storage boxes in the basement too. One thing for sure, I won't lack for anything to do this year!!! Susan's UFO bust sounds like fun. I may check it out and decide to join. It would make me accountable to get some things done. I also want to start my walking routine. I have slacked off this past year. Loved Christmas, but glad things are settling down a bit!!! Love & blessings from NC!

I also hope to get more decluttering and organizing done here in the near future.
Have a great day.

I'm doing Susan's UFO Bust too! I'm looking forward to it. Remember, it's not a UFO Boot Camp, you can go at your own pace. You can even choose a month where you don't do anything at all! Good luck!

My whole house and the garage are one GIANT UFO! It has been hard to give away things from Wally's closet, even the old undershirts, and the tools in the garage. Oh My...A widow friend from church said she still had her husband's things eleven years later. So I didn't feel so bad at all. I just need time.

Love and encouragement to you, sweet friend. ♥♫

Oh Donna, Honey, I did not know about the Pulmonary Fibrosis! Please take good care of you! Hubby made storage for me by studding up a little walk-in closet behind his work table in the shed! He insulated it and lined it with heavy mill plastic. I am storing the Xmas things in there so we don't have to climb to the attic any more! Happy organizing! luvu, K

Donna,
I'm so happy you're working on a quilt project and that you're joining Susan's UFO club, once you get that first one finished I'm sure the next one will be easier! Don't every think twice about not responding to any of my comments, my in-basket is a mess too!

I'm looking forward to seeing what you finish up. Sometimes seeing someone else's work inspires me to get moving.

And don't worry about commenting back to me; I know you are reading these!
