Pure Bliss Quilt Top

I have been sewing while watching the Olympics at night. I finally have something to show for it!
I finished sewing the borders on my Best Friends quilt top I made with the fabric line Bliss.  I adore this fabric!  It is so happy and cheery with all the pinks, reds, greens and aquas.
I posted about it here.

The pics aren't the greatest (it's cloudy) but it's hard to get my husband to keep holding it up while I try to get a better pic. :)

I love the combination of prints with the flowers that make up this line of fabric. I made each block different to use every design in the collection.  I have enough of the border pieces to make a pillow to match it.  I used a layer cake to make this quilt.

I am going to bind the quilt with one of the prints I bought on sale at my local quilt shop a few weeks ago.  I have white fabric which I will use for the quilt back.

I have also been busy making Granny Squares and a sunflower pillow which I will post later.

Thanks for all the sweet comments on Jennifer's birthday.  I don't normally post pics of myself but I loved this one of us together.

Thanks for visiting!

Impressive, my friend! I recently found out what a "layer cake" is. I had to ban myself from quilt shops as I'd always bring home more fabric and never get around to making anything. I admire your talent and skill in making all those diamonds and points!♥♫

First; SO sorry I haven't reacted on Jennifer's birthday. Just see it now that I read this post. That's a very cute picture of the two of you. You're a pretty mom who doesn't look like she has a 31 year old daughter! Really mean that.
Second; What A Great Quilt this one turned out to be! Frankly I wasn't sure about all those busy fabrics, but it works!! I LOVE it!!! I am not very brave when it comes to picking fabrics I guess. Tend to go the safe way... Have to change that about me and my quilts.
Well, have fun with the Olympics, the Dutch did very well today! Watch for one of our gymnasts; Epke Zonderland!!! UNIQUE routine.

Hugs and kisses,

Oh my goodness! You have accomplished more than I have during the Olympics - Very pretty!
The last week I have had a lot of running around to do, and even when at home I have not been able to concentrate on the Olympics. Don't know why, but for some reason I have not been able to really get interested in them this year. :(
Out and about in the heat today - ready for some cooler (not cold) temps.

Just beautiful - bight and cheery and happy. I love jelly rolls and layer cakes. I don't have room to build up a stash like I used to!

Thinking of you.

When I was in high school we have had a time for sewing and quilt. But It's not really my interest I find boring.
Now I realize why we need to learn this thingy. I wanted to make quilt clothes for my kids.

I've never tried to quilt, but my Mother does, and I think I should learn! You are a great inspiration.

Thanks, and go USA!
