Great Granny Scrap Top Finished

I finally added the outer borders to my Great Granny Scrap Along quilt top I began last Fall.  I am really trying to finish up projects I have started.  After all I have to begin thinking qiilts for the baby!
And thank you all for the comments you left on me being a Nonna :)
When I began I used fabics I had including the white background.  When I finished adding the borders I had a 1" x 6" piece of white fabic left and that's all!  Talk about cutting it close!
I love all the fabrics used in the quilt top.  They look vintage but are new fabrics.  The reds, green, and pinks ...

And of course some purple fabrics.
More purple and pink.  Looks like Spring doesn't it?
Just bright happy colors!
Now I have to choose a backing.  I would love to use something other than white but if I choose something other than a light color I'm afraid it might show through to the front.  I think I am going to make a scrappy binding.  I adore scrappy bindings.  After all it is a scrap quilt!
Thanks for visiting!

Beautiful, love the lavender blocks in your Great Granny. Mine still needs a backing also, I agree the white backing would be too stark. Think I will try to find a small flower with a white backgroung and hope it doesn't show through.

The pattern looks complicated to me when blocks are on-point. With batting, would your backing still show through? It does have a lot of bright happy colors! Reminds me of some that my grandmother made over 40 years ago. I still think of both my grandmas and miss them.♥♫

It's wonderful! I love the vintage feel to it as well, and I think a scrappy binding will be perfect. If you do go with a white backing, maybe you can piece some of your colored scraps into it. Just a thought. That might give it the interest you are looking for.

Love the beautiful quilt tops, my granny had so many of those and everyone was gonna finish them and I don't know what ever happened to them, they were very cool...I do have a few old quilts, no tops left, thanks for bringing back those memories...
